Description

A row of houses and shops, now primarily shops and offices, built around 1837 for Richard Grainger. The building is constructed of painted ashlar, with the roof hidden from view. It includes a section connecting to No. 83 Westgate Road on the left side. The facade consists of 11 bays, arranged as 1:8:1, with curved corner bays at each end. The ground floor shops have been renewed, though some original cast iron columns remain visible. The upper floors feature sash windows with glazing bars, and the bays at the ends have larger, tripartite windows that slightly project. A second-floor band and a prominent cornice run along the top, with an eaves band, a top cornice, and a blocking course completing the facade.
