Description

The building consists of warehouse and workshop structures, part of which is now used as a gallery and cinema. It is located on both sides of a staircase and includes a short section of rubble garden wall with a boarded door that is accessed by eight steps. The buildings date from the late 18th century and 19th century, with the stairs likely being older. They are constructed from mixed sandstone, with some sections squared and others roughly squared. The bays closest to the street have an added brick upper storey, and some feature brick window heads. The roofs are covered with Welsh slate, and there are slate-hung gables above the hoists.

The buildings vary in height, with four storeys at the street end, and one storey with a basement on the south side and one storey on the north side. The south side has ten bays, including a stack of loading doors with a hoist above in the left bay, and flush-panel doors in bays six and nine. The windows are casements with iron bars, and all openings are topped with wide, heavy stone lintels and flat stone sills. The staircase consists of three flights. The north side has five bays, featuring double doors in the right end bay beneath the stack of loading doors with a hoist above, a renewed door in an alternate-block surround on the left, and casements with iron bars that have elliptical brick arches and plain sills.
