Description

Sinclair's Cooperage, now a workshop, dates from the 18th century. The building features a ground floor of sandstone rubble and brick above, all limewashed, topped with a Welsh slate roof and brick chimneys. It is two storeys high with an irregular arrangement of windows, including three on the ground floor and four on the first floor. All windows are sashes, most of which have been renewed and feature late 19th-century glazing bars in wide boxes. The roof has a fairly steep pitch and includes a rear first-floor band. There is also an outbuilding made of sandstone rubble with a Welsh slate roof, which was being restored at the time of the survey. This cooperage is included for its group value with the Corner Tower on City Road.
