Description

The Old Maltings is a late 18th century to early 19th century maltings building that has been converted into workshops. It features coursed squared sandstone with ashlar dressings and quoins, along with a brick wing and returns. The roof is made of Welsh slate. The structure stands three storeys high with a basement and consists of six bays, with one brick bay slightly set back on the left. The main building has boarded doors in the first and sixth bays, with stone steps leading to the first bay. It has flat stone lintels and projecting stone sills above small square windows, which are bricked up in the basement and boarded on the other floors. There is a longer window in the fourth bay on the ground floor. The brick wing on the left has a timber lintel above a bricked-up basement door opening, a soldier course lintel above a boarded ground floor window, and a timber lintel above a two-light first floor casement.
