Description

This is a late 17th-century fountain located in front of the John George Joicey Museum on City Road in Newcastle upon Tyne. It is constructed from sandstone ashlar and has an octagonal shape. The fountain features a cyma-moulded plinth that leads to a high arcaded pedestal. This pedestal has an impost string and supports a wide fountain with rounded coping, which is adorned with a modillioned cornice.
