Description

This is a house, now used as offices, dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, with alterations made in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of brick, with some areas rendered in stucco. It has a Welsh slate roof with a deep eaves cornice and a brick stack at the rear. The exterior is two window bays wide over three storeys and a cellar. The first floor has 6/6 sash windows with projecting stone sills, the upper windows are 3/6 sashes, also with stone sills. The first-floor sills are accentuated by rendered channelled voussoirs and keystones. The ground floor features two canted bay windows with remodelled plate glazing under a continuous leaded hood with a boarded soffit. This hood also covers a moulded doorcase on the left-hand side, which contains a 20th-century door, a cellar grille, and a painted plinth. The interior retains timber framing and shows an altered roof pitch. The building was formerly used as a cooper’s premises.
