Description
17A Bridge Street is a former coach house and stables associated with No. 17 Perrott House, now used as offices. It dates from the mid to late 18th century and has undergone later alterations. The building is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, topped with a roof of Welsh slate and 20th-century plain tiles, featuring brick dentilled eaves and a left end stack.
The exterior is two storeys high and includes three lunettes with painted keyed surrounds on a sill band, with the central one being blocked and painted. On the ground floor, there is a 12-pane window on the left, which has painted channelled voussoirs, a keystone, and a sill. To the right of this window is a 20th-century door framed by a painted wooden architrave topped with a shallow pediment. Further to the right is a carriage entrance with a brick basket arch, a painted keystone, and springers, along with a painted wooden architrave and plank double doors. The building also features a painted stone plinth. At the rear, there is a wing with a cat-slide tiled roof over the rear carriage entrance. The interior has not been inspected.
