Description
No. 16 Bridge Street is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed of mostly red brick in Flemish bond, and the ground floor is painted. It features a plain tile roof with an uneven pitch and a brick stack on the right side.
The house has three storeys and a cellar, with a two-window range of sash windows. The second floor has windows with three panes over six panes, while the first floor has six-over-six pane windows, all with painted reveals and sills, and flat arches made of gauged brick. On the ground floor, there is a canted bay shop window on the right, which includes mullions and small-pane glazing. To the left, there is a six-panel door with a three-pane overlight, both of which are sheltered by a continuous leaded hood that has a boarded soffit and a scalloped metal fringe.
The interior has not been inspected. Historically, the building was used as a post office.
