Description
No. 14 Bridge Street is a house and shop dating from the mid to late 18th century, with later alterations. The building is constructed of brick, primarily red with some blue and yellow, arranged in Flemish bond. It features a renewed plain tile roof with an uneven pitch, along with a brick stack on the left and another at the rear.
The structure has three storeys and a cellar, with a five-window range, two of which are blocked. On the upper floors, there are two sashes with painted reveals and sills; the second floor has windows with 3/6 panes, while the first floor features flat brick arches above the windows, each with a blocked window to its left. The right bay contains a mid-storey sash with a cambered head, set in a flush moulded surround, complete with a painted sill and a cambered gauged brick arch above, and a painted blocked opening above that.
On the ground floor, there is a central 20th-century door flanked by a remodelled multipane shop window on the left and a similar flush window on the right. The right bay also has a remodelled carriage entrance with double plank doors. The interior has not been inspected.
