Description

Sandford Cottage is a detached cottage that was formerly used as a cooper's workshop, dating from the early 19th century. It features lias rubble walls with 20th-century brick dressings and a slate roof with stone gable copings. The building has two brick stacks located at the left and right gables. It stands two storeys high and has three brick-dressed windows, which are sashes with glazing bars. The front door is centrally located, consisting of six panels with two glass lights and is framed by a fluted door surround. There is a wooden trelliswork porch with a hipped slate roof. To the right, there is a two-bay range that also has a slate roof and two storeys, with windows that are sashes.
