Description
Wesleyan Chapel is a mid-19th century building located on Fleet Street in Beaminster. The gable end features a stone plaque that reads "Wesleyan Centenary Chapel." The chapel has an ashlar stone wall facing the street, topped with a plain pediment, while the side walls are constructed of rubble. It has a tall slate roof and is a single storey high, with two windows that have round-arch sashes and curvilinear glazing bars at the top. The main entrance is centrally located and consists of a two-leaf wooden door framed by a door surround with Soanian incised pilasters and an open pediment above. Inside, there is a tablet on the west wall made of white marble on a slate block, dedicated to the memory of George Chambers, who was a long-time member and office bearer of the church, and who passed away on May 19th, 1852, at the age of 40.
