Description

Maltby Farmhouse is an irregular 18th-century house constructed of local red brick. It was originally a farmhouse and hind's cottage. The building features a fairly high-pitched pantiled roof with swept eaves and has central and end chimneys, with the right chimney being rebuilt. The gable ends display tumbled-in brickwork. The house is two storeys tall and has three windows, which are adorned with gauged brick flat window arches. The upper windows are Yorkshire horizontal sliding sashes, while the lower ones are double-hung sashes, both featuring glazing bars. The entrance is marked by a panelled door with a fanlight above. Attached to the west side of the house is a lower two-storey outbuilding made of similar materials, also with a tumbled-in brick gable end. This outbuilding includes one door, a loading door above, and pigeon holes in the gable. There is an additional lower outbuilding that is not of interest.
