NZ 41 SE MALTBY ROGER LANE (East side) 14/543 Maltby Farmhouse

II

Irregular C18 house of local red brick. Originally farmhouse and hind's cottage. Fairly high pitched pantiled roof with swept eaves, central and end chimneys, the right one rebuilt. Tumbled-in brickwork to gable ends. Two storeys, 3 windows. Gauged brick flat window arches. Yorkshire horizontal sliding sashes above, double-hung sashes below, with glazing bars. Panelled door with fanlight. Lower 2-storey outbuilding, attached to house on west, of similar materials and also with tumbled-in brick gable end. One door and a loading door above and pigeon holes in the gable. A further, lower outbuild- ing is not of interest.
