Description
Maltby Grange is a house composed of two parts, dating from the early to mid-18th century and the mid-19th century. One section may have been used as a hind's cottage. The older part is built of local red brick, while the roofs are covered with pantiles and Welsh slate. The lower extension of the original house features a hip-ended roof. The building has two storeys and four windows. The sash windows in the older part have full glazing bars, while those in the newer section have vertical bars only. The upper windows of the older part are of the Yorkshire horizontal type. There is a four-panel door in a Tuscan porch in the newer part. The rear elevation displays round arched staircase windows in both sections, and the roof of the older part has been raised.
