Description
39 and 39A High Street is a mid-18th century building that stands four storeys tall with a parapet and features four windows. The exterior is made of painted brick, accented with stone lintels, cills, and bands above each floor, as well as cope and rustic quoins. The third floor has glazing bar sashes, while the other windows have modern casements. The ground floor has been modernised. The property at 39A includes a large rear extension that is four storeys high with nine windows, dating from the early to mid-19th century, and has a slightly lower two-window extension to the east. This extension is visible from Green Dragon Yard and adds to the building's group value. There is a cobbled alley beside the extension, featuring a large tripartite doorway with a moulded stone surround at the west end.
