Description
Nos 4 and 5 on Finkle Street are mid-18th century buildings made of colour-washed brick, topped with a slate roof and brick stacks. They rise four storeys high and feature a plain parapet with four slightly raised courses and a moulded stone coping. The front has five ranges of cased sash windows with glazing bars, with a single hung window on the third floor. On the first floor to the left, there is a canted bay that includes flanking pilasters, a moulded cornice, and sash windows with glazing bars. The buildings have two half doors with four panels and an arch, leading to a central through passage.
The shop front, which is largely intact from the 19th century, shows that No 4 has two shop windows with a recessed central entrance, while No 5 features an angled entrance to its shop. There is a wide overall fascia with carved end brackets. At the rear, there is an extension facing Green Dragon Yard, which is part of a separate group. This extension is three and two-and-a-half storeys tall, has two windows, and is made of brick, with one half dormer. The left side has Yorkshire sash windows, and the right side has a large opening with a derrick.
