Description

No 7 and No 8, known as the Art Gallery, are located at the western end of Theatre Yard in Stockton on Tees. No 7 was originally a stable, while No 8 served as a small coach house or annex. These buildings date from the 18th century and are constructed from hand-made bricks. They feature a new pantiled roof and stand two stories tall with a gable end facing north. On the first floor, there is one louvred window. The west side of the buildings is corbelled and angled to accommodate an alleyway leading to Green Dragon Yard, with a stop-chamfered detail at the north-west corner. The buildings have wooden gutters and a new brick coping along the gable. To the north, there is a cobbled courtyard.
