Description

Plantation Farmhouse and its rear northeast wing, built around 1840, is a house constructed from chevron-dressed sandstone with tooled margins and rusticated quoins at the corners. It features a Welsh slate roof with stone gable copings and stone corniced stacks at the gables. The building is two stories high and has three bays. The windows are sash style with glazing bars. The central entrance has a four-panelled door, with the upper two panels glazed, and is topped by a rectangular fanlight also with glazing bars. There is a large late 19th-century glazed timber porch that has a hipped slate roof, a half-glazed door, diamond-paned side-lights, and iron columns at the corners, with sash windows on the sides that also have glazing bars and side-lights. The listing includes the two-storey rear wing, which is contemporary with the main house.
