Description
Ellers Bridge is a road bridge over a stream, built in 1756 and widened in the late 19th century. The original elevation on the southeast side features dressed sandstone, with a single semi-circular arch made of vermiculated and rusticated voussoirs. The spandrels, abutments, and parapet also display this detailing, along with a torus extrados and a plain band at the base of the parapet, which is topped with plain saddle-back coping. The 19th-century elevation is constructed from rusticated rock-faced sandstone and has a plain semi-circular arch. Both parapet walls end with simple offset circular piers. The underside of the bridge is finished with vertically-tooled ashlar throughout.
