Description

This headstone, located about 5 yards south of the Church of St. Bartholomew in Whittingham Village, dates from the early 18th century. It is a small sandstone tablet, approximately 18 inches high, featuring a shaped and moulded top. One side of the headstone displays an angel carved in very high relief, while the opposite side features a skull and crossbones, also in high relief. The inscription on the headstone has eroded over time.
