Description

The Bartlett headstone, dated 1742, is located approximately 9 metres south of the chancel of the Church of St Winifred in Branscombe. This Grade II listed headstone commemorates William Bartlett. It is made of Beerstone ashlar and stands about 450 millimetres high, featuring an upright slab with a shaped head. The front of the headstone has a moulded frame and a small skull carved at the top. It is inscribed with Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, noting the death of William Bartlett in 1742.
