Description

The wall and railings to the west and south of the former County Primary School in Allendale date from the late 19th century. They are constructed from rubble and dressed stone, featuring a low stepped wall made of squared rubble with a steep coping. The central gate piers are square and topped with simply-moulded pyramidal caps. The railings have standards adorned with trefoil finials and foliate scrolls above a pierced lower rail. There is also a re-set section of railings located between the gate piers.
