Walls On South And East Of Stable Yard, With Attached Gatepiers, Gate And Outbuildings

The walls on the south and east sides of the stable yard at Healey Hall date from the early 19th century, with the south wall possibly dating back to the 18th century or earlier. The walls are constructed from squared stone, except for the rubble south wall, and feature stone slate roofs and wrought iron gates. The gatepiers are monolithic squares with stop-chamfered angles and moulded pyramidal caps, supporting gates that have spearhead bars and dogbars. A flat-coped wall on the north side connects to the Hall. The south side features a flat-coped wall with a pent outbuilding against its inner face. There is a taller flat-coped wall on the south of the yard that connects to Groom's Cottage on the west, which has a boarded door near the west end and an attached privy near the east end that links to a storehouse. The storehouse has boarded double doors under a timber lintel on the west and returns with coped gables.
