Description
This building is a garage and workshop located approximately 10 yards northwest of The Tankerville Arms. It was originally a stable and carriage house, dating from the early 19th century. The structure is built of random-rubble stone with dressed stone quoins and surrounds, topped with a Welsh slate roof. It consists of three ranges arranged around a courtyard.
The central east range has two storeys and features a blocked door along with sliding double doors at the rear. On the first floor, there are two half-slatted windows, and the range is capped with a steeply-pitched hipped roof that includes a weather vane.
The single-storey flanking ranges each have boarded doors and gabled roofs, with additional boarded doors leading to haylofts in the gable ends.
There is a fourth range on the west side that was rebuilt in 1976 and is not considered of special interest.
