Garage, 49 Kirkbank Road, Burntisland

The building at 49 Kirkbank Road in Burntisland is a mid to late 19th-century garage, designed in a U-plan courtyard layout. It includes converted stables, a granary, and a vaulted cellar. The exterior features painted rubble with droved quoins, ashlar coped skews, and block skewputt.

On the southeast elevation of the east range, there is a round-headed timber door to the right and a small pitch-roofed shop extension to the left. The southwest elevation has two converted cart entrances with timber doors located in the center and to the right, along with the shop extension that includes a display window and door to the outer right. To the left, there are two round-headed windows.

The northeast elevation of the north range features a lean-to structure that abuts rising ground at the rear, with wide timber doors on both the right and left sides. Inside, there is a barrel-vaulted chamber towards the rear of the building, and there are four small round-headed openings that have been blocked, with two each on the northeast and southwest sides.

The northwest elevation includes glazed segmental cart arches on both the right and left of the center, a large timber sliding door on the outer right, and a further segmental cart arch with a two-leaf timber door to the left. Above, there are openings for a hayloft. The roof is primarily covered with grey slates, while the east range features corrugated iron.
