Description

The Bowling Club on Greenmount Road South in Burntisland was built in 1892. It is a single-storey clubhouse with three bays, featuring jerkin-head gables and overhanging bargeboarded eaves. The structure is made of red brick with decorative polychromatic brick detailing, a base course, and painted stone cills and mullions.

On the south elevation, there is a step leading to a half-piended, slated gabled verandah supported by rusticated timber. This verandah has part-glazed returns and decorative timber panel infill that includes the date at the apex. A part-glazed timber door is located at the center, flanked by bipartite windows and blind outer walls, with a flag pole to the left.

The east elevation features a round-headed bipartite window to the left of the center on an advanced face, with a part-glazed timber door in a recess to the right. This door has a verandah roof above it, and there is another timber door in a recess with a slightly raised roofline to the outer right.

The west elevation showcases a quadripartite bow window with a tiled half-conical roof at the center. The windows on the south and west have leaded small upper lights over plate glass lower sections, while the east has plate glass glazing and the verandah features a 6-pane glazing pattern. The roof is adorned with decorative diamond bands of grey and purple slates, terracotta ridge tiles with ball finials, and exposed eaves.

Inside, as seen in 2013, there are two rooms. The principal room to the left is timber-lined with an exposed boarded roof.
