Description
This building is a former stable and coach-house, now functioning as a garage yard and gallery. It is a two-storey structure made of rendered brick and has an L-shaped layout, later extended to form a T shape, enclosing two sides of a cobbled courtyard to the south. The roofs are shallow and hipped, covered with slate, and there are plain brick stacks, one on the southwest range and two on the southeast.
The southeast face of the building was originally symmetrical, featuring a central three-bay entrance block that is slightly advanced and topped with an open pediment. There are three one-and-a-half storey recessed arches with plain tympana and tripartite stone keys. To the left, there are two openings with large plain double doors, while the left bay has been blocked in the mid-19th century and replaced with a 12-pane recessed window and a door to the right, which is also recessed. A modern door with a three-pane rectangular fanlight is present. Above each arch, there is a squat 8-pane casement window. To the left and right of the central range, there is a central door flanked by 12-pane sash windows, with two 9-pane sashes above.
The modern single-storey southwest range consists of three sections and features a pediment similar to the main structure, but here it has a blind oculus. The door and window arrangement mirrors that of the central range. The left part of the central section and the entire left section on the ground floor have been rebuilt as modern garages, featuring 20th-century wooden sliding doors and an attached corrugated iron car-port in front. A plain stone string course runs along both ranges between the first and ground floors.
The rear of the southwest range is nearly symmetrical, with a pediment and irregular fenestration on the first floor, all of which are later replacements. There is an attached wing to the left, forming one arm of the T, which has a hipped roof and dentilated eaves, along with later fenestration and doors.
