Description

This is a Dutch barn located approximately 50 yards north of Matfen High House, dating from the mid-19th century. It is constructed from snecked stone with ashlar dressings and features a Welsh slate roof. The barn has one tall storey and consists of six bays. It has an open front and sides, supported by square ashlar piers at the corners and in the center, with cast-iron columns in between. The gables are wood boarded, and the rear wall includes patterns of ventilation slits.
