Description
2 Gilesgate is an early 19th-century building that originally served as stables and a coach house. It is two storeys high and constructed of rubble stone. The front features one window on the first floor to the right, which is a glazing bar sash, and below it are double doors. To the southeast, there is a yard that is separated from the northwest wing of Hexham House by gate piers. The yard has two arched openings, although one of them is blocked. The building has a modern tiled roof. It is part of a group that includes Hexham House and Nos 2 to 8 (even), as well as the wall to the Bowling Green.
