Description
No. 43 West Street is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is built of ashlar stone and has a Welsh slate roof with brick chimneys. The house has two storeys and three bays. The central entrance features a half-glazed door from the late 19th century, topped by a three-pane overlight. To the left, there is a canted bay window with a stone pent roof, which contains original 12-pane and 6-pane sash windows of Scottish design, featuring horizontally-set panes. To the right, there is a renewed tripartite sash window. On the first floor, there are three 12-pane sash windows. The roof is gabled with flat coping and has stacks at both ends.
