Description

Alder Side is an early 19th-century cottage located at Norham Cross View. It features a rendered exterior with painted ashlar dressings, a Welsh slate roof, and old brick chimneys. The cottage is single storey and consists of three bays. The central entrance has a panelled door with a three-pane overlight set in a raised stone surround. The windows are 12-pane sashes, also in similar stone surrounds. The gabled roof is adorned with decorative bands of fish-scale slates, and there is a very tall stack at the left end.
