Description
39 and 39A Hencotes is an early 19th-century building that stands two storeys tall and features four windows. It is constructed of brick with quoins and has a quoined doorcase. The first floor has glazing bar sash windows. The doorway, located beneath the second window from the left, has a moulded hood and a six flush-panel door, with a rectangular light above it. This doorway is flanked by later single-storey three-light bays that have stop-chamfered reveals and plate glass sashes. The door to the right, which leads to No 39A, is a six-panel door with a rectangular light above it. The group of buildings that includes Nos 1 to 43 (odd) Hencotes, along with Temperley Place (Nos 1 to 5) and the surrounding walls, forms a cohesive group, with Nos 7 to 13, 13A and 13B, 19, 21, 31, 33, and 41 Hencotes being of local interest.
