Description

17 Hencotes is an early 19th-century building that stands three storeys tall and features two windows. It is constructed from rubble with stone quoins. The windows on the building are plate glass sash windows. The ground floor has been altered; there is now a side entrance from a garage throughway on the left, and the original shop front on the right has been replaced with two plate glass sash windows. Additionally, the second floor at the rear has been later built up in brick.

This building is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 43 (odd) Hencotes, along with Temperley Place (Nos 1 to 5) and surrounding walls. Notably, Nos 7 to 13, 13A and 13B, 19, 21, 31, 33, and 41 Hencotes are of local interest.
