Description

These are two mid-18th century buildings, numbers 6 and 8 Hencotes. They are two storeys high and have a three-window front with an additional window to the left. The front is rendered with quoins, while the roof is covered with asbestos diamond slates and has stone slate base courses. The windows are glazing bar sash windows with raised surrounds. A small modillion eaves cornice runs along the roofline. There is a late 19th or early 20th century shop front and doorway to the left. The doorway has a raised surround, a beaded door, and a blind panel above, located below the second window from the left. A three-light casement window is situated to the right, with a modern shop window and entrance positioned below. A brick chimney rises from the ridge of the roof. Numbers 6 and 8 form a group with numbers 4 to 20 (even), of which numbers 4 and 10 are of local interest.
