Description

Nos. 3 and 5 form a pair of late 18th or early 19th century houses. They are two storeys high with a later attic and feature three windows. The front of the houses is rendered, with quoins and glazing bar sash windows. The central window on the ground floor is flanked by quoined doorways, each with a six-panel door and a rectangular light above. Three later gabled dormers are present, each topped with terracotta finials and glazing bar sash windows. A central brick chimney stack is visible, along with one on the right-hand gable end. The building has a catslide roof to the rear. Nos. 3 and 5 are part of a group that includes Nos. 1 to 43 (odd) Hencotes and Temperley Place (Nos. 1 to 5), along with associated walls. Other buildings within this group, namely Nos. 7 to 13, 13A and 13B, 19, 21, 31, 33, and 41 Hencotes, are valued for their local significance.
