Description
The walled garden attached to the south of West Bitchfield dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It is constructed of roughly-dressed stone and features a wall that is approximately 6 feet high, topped with steeply-pitched coping that has a roll moulding. In the center of the east and west walls, the structure rises above a boarded door framed by a bolection-moulded surround with a hoodmould. The south side has gate piers that include projecting alternating blocks, moulded pyramidal caps, and ball finials.
