Description
The walled garden at Tertowie House in Kinellar likely dates from the 18th century. It features a high, stepped, rectangular plan and is topped with flat coping. The walls are constructed from roughly squared and random rubble, with some large quoins that are squared. There are segmental-arched openings with boarded timber gates on the east and west sides. The south elevation has quadrant railings and a central gate, with a flight of steps leading down to an additional garden area. Stone-bordered paths are present throughout. The north elevation of the north wall includes a lean-to range, which is listed separately as the Stables in the Stable Courtyard.
