Description
The Boat House, located approximately 600 yards south of Chipchase Castle, is a late 18th-century cottage built in a Gothick style. It is constructed from roughly-dressed stone and features a Welsh slate roof. The building has two storeys. On the entrance side, there is a boarded door and a square window on the ground floor, along with a blocked door and a blind segmental-arched recess on the first floor. The left side of the building has two tall blocked pointed-arched windows with a roundel above. The shaped gable rises to a rectangular stone chimney.
On the right side, there is one large blind pointed recess. This side also has a similar gable and chimney, but the chimney features a cruciform recess, and the edges of the gable are adorned with pyramid finials. One similar finial remains on the chimney. At the time of the survey, the building was empty and derelict.
