Description
This is a milepost located east of the road, 50 metres north of Blagdon North Lodge. It is likely from the mid-19th century and is made of cast iron, painted white with black figures. The milepost stands 0.90 metres tall and has a triangular plan with an open back. It features a raised legend indicating distances to Newcastle (9 miles) and Morpeth (5¾ miles), with the distance to Morpeth displayed on an added plate.
