Description
Tenters for drying cloth, built in the early 19th century, located approximately 40 yards south-east of Otterburn Mill. The structure consists of two rows of tenters, each about 40 yards long. The right row stands around 7 feet high and features regularly spaced iron posts with holes running up the length. At the top, there is a fixed wooden rail equipped with tenterhooks, and lower down, a second adjustable rail also fitted with tenterhooks. The left row is similar but only about 4 feet high. This site is included for its industrial-archaeological interest.
