Description
Monkridge Hall is a house built around 1774 for Gabriel Hall, with a slight extension to the rear added later. It is constructed of ashlar stone and has a Welsh slate roof with a double-span design. The building has two storeys and features five bays. The central entrance has a 20th-century door set within an architrave, and there is a blank recess above the door that was likely intended for a sundial or inscription. The windows are 20th-century sashes and casements, framed in raised moulded surrounds. The roof is steeply pitched with gables, flat coping that has splayed edges, and shallow curved kneelers. There is a corniced stack at the right end, while the left end stack has been partly renewed.
At the rear, the span has irregular openings in raised surrounds with hollow-chamfered edges, including a large Venetian stair window. The roof here is slightly shallower pitched.
Inside, there is a broad staircase featuring stick balusters and turned newels, and the Venetian window is adorned with a triglyph frieze.
