Description
The Percy Cross is a monument commemorating the Battle of Otterburn, erected in 1777. It incorporates a 14th-century medieval cross base and an historic stone shaft.
The monument is made of dressed sandstone and features a round base consisting of three steps, followed by two square steps. On top of this base is the squared medieval cross base, from which rises an upright, faceted, and tapering stone that is approximately 2.4 meters high. There are two iron pegs attached to the south face of the monument, and most faces of the stone contain graffiti.
