WHITTINGHAM ESLINGTON PARK NU 01 SW 9/116 Stables and former billiard room attached to west of Eslington Park

GV II

Stable and former billiard room which is now part of house (q.v.). Early C19 for Lord Ravensworth. L-plan.

Short front section, part of house, is single storey, 3 bays with 10-panel door in architrave on right. 12-pane sash in flat raised surround left of this and further left a bay window with three 12-pane sashes separated by Tuscan pilasters. Hipped roof.

To rear of this a long irregular 2-storey block with central passage through to house rear courtyard. Boarded doors, boarded double doors to garage, 12- and 16-pane sashes on ground floor; 4 slatted windows and 2 later 6-pane sashes on 1st floor. All original openings in plain raised surrounds.

Hipped roof with central square wood clock towertopped by wood Tuscan drum,lead dome and vane.
