Description
The pig sties and cart shed, located about 20 yards northeast of Chollerton Farmhouse, date from the 19th century. The pig sties are constructed from random rubble and feature stone slate roofs, while the cart shed is made of dressed stone with a Welsh slate roof. The buildings are arranged in two ranges at right angles to each other.
The cart shed consists of three bays and is supported by square stone piers that have stop-chamfered edges, topped with a hipped roof. In front of the cart shed, there is a row of six pig sties, each with walled yards. This structure is included for its group value with the nearby farmhouse.
