Description

Carrshield House is a house from the early 19th century, with later extensions added in the 19th century. It is built of rubble with tooled and margined dressings and has a slate roof. The house is two storeys high and features three symmetrical bays. The central door has been renewed and is set beneath an oblong overlight, with alternating jambs. The windows are twelve-pane sash types, except for the margined sash located above the door, all featuring tooled lintels and slightly projecting sills. The end stacks are stepped and corniced ashlar with conjoined shafts. At the rear, there is a wing that has renewed sashes, also with tooled and margined lintels and slightly projecting sills. The back gable is coped with kneelers and carries a stepped and corniced stack.
