Description

Temperance Farmhouse is a house, originally an inn, dating from the 18th century, with extensions added in the late 18th or early 19th century. It is constructed of rubble with roughly cut quoins, some stone dressings, and a stone slate roof. The house is two storeys high with an irregular 2 + 2 bay frontage. The left-hand portion has a renewed door set in a tooled stone surround, and late 19th-century sash windows. The extension to the right includes a late 19th-century sash window on the ground floor and two similar windows above. The return side displays two small four-pane attic windows. The rear elevation features an eight-pane sash window in the stairwell. A cobbled forecourt provides access, along with a flagged path. A stone shed located to the far right of the property is not considered historically significant.
