Description
The garden wall located 70 metres northeast of Longhirst Hall and its outbuildings dates from around 1825. The wall is constructed of brick on an ashlar plinth, with the external face being brick on the east side and squared tooled stone on the north side. It features a tall structure with a flat stone coping that runs from a pier with a moulded stone finial, situated just south of the northwest corner of the garden, along the north and east sides, stepping uphill on the north side, with rounded northern angles.
The north external face includes a pair of attached pent outbuildings that have panelled doors and sash windows. There is a 20th-century shed to the west that is not of interest, along with blocked heating ducts in the wall further west, and a cartshed attached to the terminal pier, which has twin entrances divided by a stone pier. Glasshouses are attached to the internal face of the north wall. An altered stable block to the southeast is also not of interest.
