Description
23 Market Place is a mid to late 18th century building that stands three storeys tall with an attic. It features two windows and is constructed of painted brick, accented with stone quoins, lintels, and cills. The slate roof includes a later 19th century two-light hipped gabled dormer. The building has wide glazing bar sash windows. To the left, there is a doorway that leads to the former through passage of number 22, which has quoins and a six-panel (raised and fielded) door. The shop front is modern and includes a central door. This building, along with St Andrew's Church and other listed buildings in the Market Place, forms a group, with numbers 8, 10, and 16 being of local interest.
