Description
25 and 26 Market Place are late 18th century to early 19th century buildings that stand three storeys tall and feature two windows. They are constructed of painted brick, with a stone pier strip on the left side, and have a stone cill band and stone lintels. The buildings have a slate roof and glazing bar sash windows, although some of the glazing is later. On the left, there is a late 19th century shop front with a decorative fascia and a slightly recessed door, while the right side has a modern shop front. The rear of the buildings is made of brick, with stone cills and lintels, and includes some horizontal sliding sashes. These buildings, along with St Andrew's Church and other listed buildings in the Market Place, form a group that includes Nos 8, 10, and 16, which are of local interest.
