Description

This garden wall, located approximately 40 yards west of Fowberry Tower, dates from the 17th to the 19th century. The outer face is made of dressed stone, while the inner face is constructed of brick, with the lower courses featuring English garden wall bond and a more irregular patchwork above. It has a flat coping stone on top. A sundial, dated 1666, is set into the wall. The wall is mentioned in a letter from 1767, which is quoted in Northumberland County History Volume XIV.
