Description

Hettonburn Bridge is a bridge built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a single-span segmental arch with a drip stone. There are band marks at the base of the parapet, which is mostly plain except for a central panel that has an incised circle and a square cap on a slightly concave cornice. The square end piers also have similar caps and offset bases that create a buttress effect. Stone walls lead up to the approaches of the bridge.
